Shortened rear lower control arms reduce negative camber gain when lowering Mazda MX-5 NA & NBs. As the car is lowered the camber increases to a point where it cannot be removed using the standard alignment bolts. This causes excessive tyre wear and a reduction in grip. Using an upper camber arm to correct alignment will push the top of the tyre out and depending on the wheel and tyre size can then cause fitment issues with the wheel arch.
The shortened rear low control arms pull the bottom of the tyre in to reverse the increase in camber. This has the additional benefit of reducing the reach of the driveshaft which increases CV joint life. No trimming of the chassis or bodywork is required, allowing arms to be fitted easily and reversed at a later date if necessary. OEM bushes are utilised, allowing you to easily upgrade or replace them as required. Bushes are not included.
Recommended Bushes
We recommend Energy Suspension bushes. Tried and tested on our own cars and used by AWR for their engine mounts, they’re high-performance bushes that are cost-effective compared to Powerflex.
