MX-5 Performance Parts
If you’re looking to give your little roadster a performance upgrade, BOFI Racing has all the Mazda MX-5 parts and modifications you’ll need!
Most big power builds start with the engine block, replacing the connecting rods and pistons with stronger forged pieces. For naturally aspirated (NA) engines, or those chasing even more power, it’s essential to build the cylinder head with bigger camshafts, larger and hardened valves, and adjustable pulleys.
Getting more cool, oxygen-rich air to your engine is a sure-fire way to improve power output, and there’s lots you can tinker about with. Replacing your MX-5’s stock restrictive exhaust system with a free-flowing, larger mid-pipe and backbox, as well as swapping your catalytic converter for a decat pipe, will give you huge performance gains on track—especially to a turbo or supercharged MX-5. Adding an intake manifold will also help to reduce the restriction that is encountered when pushing a lot of horsepower.
If you’re after something a little punchier in the way of forced induction, see our range of MX-5 Turbo Kits.

About Our MX-5 Forced Induction Kits
From the simplest of builds to the wildest, we stock everything you need to boost your MX-5 the right way. If you want to improve your Miata’s power without changing too much of the classic roadster’s characteristics, performance parts like our MX-5 individual throttle body (ITB) kits are exactly what you’re after. For those looking to increase airflow, our selection of high-flow MX-5 induction kits from top brands like HKS, K&N and Ramair is sure to thrill.
At BOFI Racing, we’re proud to stock the largest range of performance parts for Mazda MX-5 in Europe. We keep an enormous number of tuning parts in our UK warehouse, which are sourced from quality brands across the world. Our ever-expanding range includes boutique manufacturers from Europe, performance titans from the USA, ultra-cool JDM brands from Japan, and masters of fabrication from the UK.
When it comes to modified MX-5s, there are a few tunings that really catch our eye.
A shiny new aftermarket air intake on your Miata will increase air flow, adding torque and horsepower for boosted acceleration. Throttle response will also be much improved, so your engine will respond quicker underfoot.
Letting air flow out is just as important as getting the air in, so think about replacing your MX-5 exhaust system with new parts—like mid-pipes, EGR blanking caps and exhaust manifolds—or a whole new exhaust setup. An aftermarket Miata exhaust system will give the car more power while cutting weight, leading to a better power-to-weight ratio.
Our MX-5 induction kits don’t just improve peak power output and deliver a more responsive feel, they’ll also introduce a noticeable new layer of induction sound, making your car feel much more thrilling to drive on the road or track.
Designed to fit your Mk1, Mk2, Mk3 or Mk4 MX-5 with ease, these bolt-on MX-5 induction kits will also neaten up your engine bay in the process.
If you want much more control over things like ignition timing, even the most affordable MX-5 ECUs offer plenty of flexibility nowadays. Pricier ECU options generally offer additional sensors, with more robust engine protection and advanced features like traction control, boost by gear and knock control.
While these more expensive, advanced ECUs won’t make your car any faster, they could certainly save your engine from serious—potentially terminal—damage if something goes awry on the move (stuck wastegate, faulty fuel pump, etc). If you’ve already shelled out a lot on your engine build, this level of protection is well worth the extra investment!
There are a whole host of different ECU options on the MX-5 market, from budget buys to top-spec tuning versatility, and we’re proud to offer the very best of them at BOFI Racing. As well as supplying a range of plug and play ECUs, we offer everything else you’ll need to install your new setup and connect it to a laptop.
