Severe Gear is an extreme pressure gear lube specifically engineered to provide maximum performance in the most severe-duty applications. Its state-of-the-art blend features high-viscosity shear-stable synthetic base oils and high-performance friction modifiers to ensure long-lasting protection against metal-to-metal contact in even the most extreme environments. Amsoil’s own proprietary additives form a barrier coating on gear surfaces to provide maximum possible protection against wear, pitting and scoring.

Furthermore, Severe Gear helps to prevent thermal runaway which is a phenomenon where a lubricant can no longer control the friction and heat in high-stress conditions. This gear oil helps to inhibit lube degradation, preventing component damage during track days, racing and other extreme environments.

Amsoil Severe Gear is ideal for use in punishing applications. Ideal for use in race and high horsepower applications, it is also recommended for severe applications such as towing, hauling, ploughing and other commercial applications prone to extreme service.

Recommended for use in differentials, manual transmissions and other gear applications requiring any of the following specifications: API GL-5, MT-1, MIL-PRF-2105E, Dana SHAES 234 (Formerly Eaton PS-037), Mack GO-J, or the differential (hypoid) gear oil specifications from all domestic and foreign manufacturers such as GM, Ford and Daimler Chrysler. Can also be used in axles where an API GL-4 lubricant is recommended.

AMSOIL Severe Gear (75W-90)?provides superior performance and replaces competitors’ 75W-90 and 80W-90 gear oils. It delivers the best fuel efficiency and cold-temperature performance of the Severe Gear oils.

AMSOIL Severe Gear is compatible with most limited-slip differentials. If limited-slip differential chatter occurs, add AMSOIL Slip Lock? friction modifier additive.

Warranties cover defects in materials and workmanship only. Warranty is for replacement of a similar product, repair of the original product or refund of the purchase value only and excludes all labour and incurred charges including towing, fitting, inconvenience, and purchases of other manufacturer's products. The warranty is good for the period stated in the additional info tab from the date of purchase. Mileage warranties are for road use only and proof of mileage is required. Products must be installed by an independent experienced professional mechanic and the suspected defect must be present at the outset. The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, failure to comply with the maintenance requirements of the vehicle, processing or otherwise changing the product, ordinary wear and tear, or any other external influences. Warranties are invalid if the product is used for racing, rallying, drifting, track days or any other form of motorsport or competition. Making a warranty claim

Proof of purchase receipt showing the date of purchase, proof of mileage at installation, proof of current mileage and invoice of the work undertaken by an independent experienced professional mechanic must be supplied along with the returned products for a warranty claim to be considered. If your vehicle needs to be used whilst your warranty claim is considered replacement parts from the same manufacturer should be purchased through BOFI Racing. In the event of a successful warranty claim, we will refund the card that was originally used to purchase the replacement parts, in full or in part depending on the nature of the claim. BOFI Racing reserves the right to make full or partial compensation at its sole discretion depending on the condition and mileage use of the returned suspect parts. For example, if you have used the part for several thousand miles before a defect is noticed, only partial compensation may be offered.
