This complete reroute kit includes all the parts you’ll need for a successful and worry-free installation. The aluminium material used provides excellent corrosion resistance and will easily outlive any car.

All spacers include 1/8″ NPT thread for aftermarket coolant temperature gauge and blanking cap.

Here are some of its many benefits:

  • Reroute kit reverts the coolant flow back to the original path as designed for Mazda B6/BP engine, which improves the cooling and keeps the rear of the engine happy.
  • Customize the kit to fit your MX-5 build. If you choose the 1/8″ NPT thread, we’ll provide a free blanking plug so you can use it even if you don’t have the additional gauge yet! With us, you have the flexibility you need.
  • Standard kit is retaining working heater system and original sensor locations for ECU and coolant bypass circuit. This keeps the coolant flowing when thermostat is still closed, which allows for a proper warm-up and cold over-pressure protection.
  • Modification is fully reversible if you keep your original parts.

Please note:

  • In case you have an EGR system on your 99 car, you will need to modify the EGR pipe at the back of the engine or blank the EGR system.
  • Please beware of cheap aluminium radiators. A good radiator core design is crucial and some of the cheaper aftermarket radiators perform worse than stock. Coolant reroute with a large valve thermostat and stock radiator will do a better job than just installing a large cheap aluminium radiator with no reroute.

    Literally everything needed for a proper reroute. Nothing more to say, works exactly like its meant to, was easy enough to install.

    I fitted this kit with the engine in the car. I used the blanking plate to make it easier and chose the spacer block with the additional port for future sensor possibilities. Might as well for no extra cost. The hose is not a 100% the best routing but to be expected with it’s not made for the job. The jubilee clips weren’t that great so I swapped them out for some better quality ones I had. Not essential but it’s really hard to get your hands behind the block and fit them so I thought do it once and do it right. Might as well fit a new thermostat whilst at it! Be careful the hose doesn’t rub on anything or catch the throttle cable. I would certainly buy again.

    Would definitely recommend purchasing one of these, especially if you’re going to be turboing your car, last thing you want is a head gasket failing at the back of the engine because of the extra heat. Reroute pipe isn’t the best for routing down the side of the engine. But all other parts were spot on, can’t fault.
