The season continues with another epic day of racing. This time, another face appears who will be adding his own touch to the site in the coming weeks and months.
We are once again blessed with ideal temperatures giving us a clear view and sticky tarmac to help our cars around the tight sections of the courses. Granted, the added heat does add to the tyre wear and make for some excellent doughnuts.
With the session starting on tyres that have already been abused for several months, Dan had some work to do to ensure he’d be driving home on a reasonable amount of tread, with a mid-session swap front to back it kept everything in check.
The little 1.6 put up a good fight, putting down times that (if he was consistent) could have netted Dan 4th place – not bad at all!
Dan finished 21st overall, a considerable improvement from the previous outing and with everything moving in the right direction, we might just get there.
Leigh put down stellar times to bring him first in class, looking at the detailed breakdown it shows he still has some work to do to keep on his A game throughout the day but if he can, there could be an overall win at the next round.
Colin in the alfa had a rough day and in true Alfa fashion had a fuel leak at scrutineering – but nothing that couldn’t be bashed together for the event. Several wrong tests and understeer contributing to less than glamorous times but hey – as with these events it’s about the fun and the taking part.
James came along to marshal the event, really this was just a way of getting him back in the seat of an MX5 again, taking Leighs turbo 5 for a pull along the straights only served to cement that need, AutoTrader watch out!
